To ensure you step out on the right foot every time, here are some helpful hints to enhance the lifespan of your shoes.
Give good shoes a rest. In order to keep in premium condition, business shoes should not be worn on consecutive days. This allows the leather to breathe between wears.
Use a shoehorn. Not just a great accessory to assist your foot into the shoe –these are indispensable for keeping the shape of the shoe.
Use shoe trees. Every good shoe deserves a shoe tree –the foot-shaped devices, available in wood or plastic, that help shoes keep shape whilst being stored. This will also help to prevent wrinkling and damage.
Regular maintenance. Check the shoes before placing them back into your wardrobe. Wipe clean with a cloth, or brush suede, to remove any dust collected during the wear. It is also important to condition leather shoes once or twice a year, particularly following the winter months –a vital step in maintaining the quality and softness of the leather.
A well-maintained shoe will not only complete your outfit but makes a statement of who you are as a person.
