Now a third generation Italian fashion house based near Milan, Canali started life as a tailoring workshop set up by 2 brothers in 1934. It's fine quality menswear was available only in Italy until the mid 70's when the family allowed foreign buyers access. By 1980, 50% of Canali's production was exported, expanding to include shoes, ties, belts and shirts. Canali, now exports to over 80 countries, still proudly producing each garment in Italy, all of them tailored and finished by hand, one at a time.
Canali stands for tailoring, taste and Italian tradition - all of which add up to quality. It is the essential and primary ingredient, which has always guided the strategic choices of the company. Every single garment is exclusively designed and produced in Italy, along strict tailoring standards. Canvas in suits, jackets and overcoats is always sewn in the old fashioned manner, never fused.
Quality, as the basis of the Canali, make tailoring ability and modelling research indispensable. The company styling team creates and develops patterns that exhibit innovative design yet perfect fit. This Canali 'fit' results from the styling research and handcrafted tailoring.
The highly skilled personnel are one of the company's strengths. Every member of the production staff specialises in only one phase of manufacture, the extensive training is given inside the factory. This ensures continuity of quality to the highest standards.
