Brioni

Founded in Italy, in 1945 by master tailor Nazareno Fonticoli and fashion designer Gaetano Savini, Brioni was named after the elegant resort on the coast of the Adriatic Sea.

1954, saw Brioni hold it's first American fashion show in New York City. This was followed by showings in eight other US cities, including Los Angeles, where Hollywood became entranced by the styling and quality of the hand-made suits. 1950's stars Clark Gable, Gary Cooper, Rock Hudson and John Wayne wore the Brioni label on and off set. This tradition continues today with Brioni being the personal suiting choice for 007 actors, Pierce Brosnan & Daniel Craig.

Brioni is for the stylish, discerning male who wishes to experience the pleasure of wearing suits, jackets, trousers and shirts exquisitely tailored, finished and made-to-measure to their personal requirements.

Brioni is one of the last fashion houses in the world to remain committed to fully handmade garments. Very few machines are involved in the production of a made-to-measure suit which entails more than 150 steps, requiring up to thirty hours work. Roughly half this time is spent handcrafting: preparation, tacking, stitching and finishing. From cutting the fabric for each client to hand-sewing buttonholes, the whole process is interspersed with more than forty pressings.

Mitchell Ogilvie Menswear Flagship store in Edward Street Brisbane offers this unique Brioni made-to-measure service on suits, jackets. trousers and shirts.

We also have pleasure in  presenting a selection of ready-to-wear Brioni garments and accessories, personally chosen in Italy by Mitch himself.
