It has been over 25 years since I started the Mitchell Ogilvie Menswear business with my sister, Dominique, at 243 Edward Street. Our business has grown and prospered since those early days, first expanding upstairs and then relocating to bigger premises at 190 Edward Street, our flagship location. The opening of our second store at Emporium in the Valley has added another dimension to our offer and retail presence.

The foundation of our success is our absolute focus on our Customers; we are constantly striving to deliver exciting, quality clothing and service, and to provide a range of international menswear brands to Brisbane.

We value your custom and look forward to dressing you and your next generation in the finest business and casual attire for decades to come. We are always evolving, not only our in store design but our product range hand - picking and bringing to you a unique mix from the best the world has to offer.

We are large enough to have formed relationships with some of the finest brands available showcasing Australia's only Canali, Paul & Shark and van Laack Concepts stores within our Flagship Store. Yet, we are small enough to offer attentive personal service; we like to know our Customers.

Our History

In 1981, at the aged of just 22, Mitchell Ogilvie realised his vision to bring quality clothing to the gentlemen of Brisbane. Mitchell Ogilvie Menswear was established at 243 Edward Street.

Five years later, with the demand for up market clothing increasing, the store was expanded to include an upstairs area creating an additional floor space of some 180m 2 .

In July of 1995, Mitchell renovated the entire store, the upstairs area being expanded to include a new suit department, providing clients with a private area to shop.

To ensure its position as the leading menswear retailer in Brisbane the store was relocated in 1999 to its current position at 190 Edward Street. Mitchell's foresight proves to be correct as that end of Edward Street has now emerged as 'the place to shop' in Brisbane City surrounded by International brand Stores.
